Christmas Carving Nightmares - Simply Get It Right This Year By Using A Cordless Electric Knife

Christmas Cordless Electric KnifeBy Jennifer Hadlow

The festive season will before long be upon us yet again even while memories of the preceding one are still clear in many peoples minds. It appears to arrive faster every year doesn't it?

Everyone knows that Christmas is a superb occasion for children but for adults particularly women it will be very demanding. Not only do we need to ponder what gifts to get every family member we have the further anxiety about ensuring the Christmas dinner goes off without a snag.

Without a doubt the most crucial part of every Christmas dinner is the turkey. Mess this up and it will destroy the complete lunch. The majority of us will use great care preparing the bird for the oven by calculating how long the big bird should cook for based on its mass. We will fill it, baste it and cover it in tin foil and later take it off to brown the turkey up. Finally we will let it cool ahead of carving it up into orderly smooth slices.

Unfortunately, most people waste a lot of time cooking the turkey but overlook the basics of carving it. Each year I am certain there are hundreds of housewives frenetically opening and closing kitchen drawers looking for the blade sharpener. The carving knife is blunted from the previous year and visitors are all seated all-around the table waiting patiently to taste the hostesses' culinary acumen. I have little doubt most relatives and friends won't comment on the butchered lumps of white meat on their plates but it could have been so much better.

Electric carving knives are specifically designed to cut meat effortlessly. It is easy to buy one for around $20 and will earn its keep after one Christmas. As a rule the better made electric knives have a blade for bread and one for meat, are machine washable and have removable blades. If you are apprehensive about having power cords untied in the kitchen then the answer is a mobile electric carving knife. These types of knives can be placed in a docking station or stored in a drawer until needed. An even simpler solution is to buy a battery operated knife although remember to remove the batteries after use if you won't be using it for some time after to stop them leaking.

In the main there is little need to pay out heaps of money on an electric carving knife if you are only likely to use it around Christmas. Consider a mid range knife as this will still last for many years if maintained well.
